(Experimental work; Copics, Tempera, pencils, graphite and powdered graphite on 18x24cm drawing board)
“You keep dreaming and dark scheming; believing this is us.
I don’t know what the hell you do, when your looks start depleting.
Do you escape a place where pride is chosen over character,
where lies are spun into bright fairy dust, floating through shady fog?
And I feel like I’m drowning in a bed of thorny roses,
…so will you scream for me?“
This was a very interesting experimental work for two reasons:
1. I wanted to try if it’s possible to draw with Tempera and Copics onto powdered graphite without smearing it. (Yes, it works obviously)
2. As powdered graphite & pencils are very, very shiny on those drawing boards I wanted to combine them with a media that is not shiny – like Tempera. I was curious about the effect. Now see for yourself what it looks like: (I really like how it turned out. You can hide things in drawings that are only visible at a specific angle of light)
