Another convention sketch from last year. This one features a swamp lurker (though I call them swamp puppies). If you’re walking through the misty swamps and feel watched – let me assure you, you are being watched. But no worries, these critters are vegetarians and are, despite their appearence, quite friendly if you bring some snacks.

Also drawn at a convention last year: Zora, who is on a quest to “follow the moon” aka travelling the country until she reaches the sea – and then turns around, because she can’t swim.

“Parasyte” – Drawn at a convention last year and sold immediately. It always makes me very happy when someone has such an immediate and personal connection to my work. It’s truly a great honor for me that my art is framed and displayed at other people’s home – so thanks a lot to everybody who got an original work or print from me.

Another sketch I did at a convention last year featuring Seraph (dragon) and Owari (bird), who may not be siblings by blood, but consider themselves siblings in mind, as despite their obvious differences they have a lot in common – like their love for strategic card games and weird humor for example.

Liselotte, who is already featured in the last post, now also decorates this sketchbook cover and even got a new friend – a dragon-frog – ready for any adventure!

Small originals (ACEO-size; 6.3 x 8.9cm) of some of my weird critters, drawn with ink and white pencil on toned paper. On the left is Liselotte, a velociraptor who excitedly realized she can breathe fire. On the right a wolfish dragon named Agor with a weird laugh and an obsession for bad jokes.

As the phoenix is one of my most favorite fantasy creatures it was time to also draw one on a sketchbook cover – of course with shiny golden details!

Warm-up sketches that I drew at a convention in autumn. Some random critters, just for fun.

Another sketch done at VIECC. A young wyvern named Merwin, who didn’t sleep well and woke up feeling sad and with wings too heavy to fly. So now he’s going for a mental health walk and will meet his friends later.
