After a very eventful first half of this year, I finally could paint again.
So much has changed for me in the past six months, that it feels kinda surreal, but still right. And I’m so grateful that I get to experience this – these major changes in my life also were the inspiration for the symbolic part of this work.
Now you might wonder, why I choose to portray it with an otter. Well, earlier this year, I had the chance to get to know some very cute otters – an encounter that left quite the impression on me. So, naturally, I had to paint an otter. Also, for me, otters represent curiosity, joy, and also freedom and idenpendency, which fit the overall symbolism of this work just perfectly.
