(5 hour work; pencil and graphite powder + brush on ~ A4 paper)
“A head full of shadows, a heart full of light.
Named as Hagazussa,
with the mind of a beast; the sky so bright.
Call my name and be forsaken, mystified.
Hope is the salvation,
midst whispered revelations of demons died.
And I carry the arcanum with a hidden smile.
Singing without words,
under a scaled, horned mask, so very vile.”
I had this work in mind for several months, but finally I was able to ban it on paper. And during drawing, as usual, the right words came to my mind to also write the poem. I had a lot of fun drawing this – mind monsters are awesome to draw … so messy and relaxing. (you can never know what’ll await you)
There’s a lot I could say about this drawing – A LOT. But I won’t; instead I’ll invite to take a look at the poem.
(There are over 35 creatures in this drawing. Do you find them? :D)
Actually, this drawing serves as warm-up for an upcoming work that I’ll start by the end of next week. Stay tuned!
